The Wardrobe Edit: Its all in the detail

I had my ears pierced when I was just five, I remember it being quite the controversy in the playground and most of my friends had to wait until they were at least thirteen (how I feel about this now I have my own is a whole other blog post). But….. I then waited until this year to add three more piercings – three on the right ear and two on the left ear. I think it was rebellion against becoming a mother and everything I thought came with that – sensible dressing, boring clothing choices, not making an effort anymore. I knew when I was pregnant the way I dressed would change but clothes had always been so important to me, I loved being creative with them and the way a new top could make you feel. I was HUGE when I was pregnant, my mini me was nearly ten pounds, and I mainly lived in my super soft J-brand maternity jeans (which my chubby thighs did rip and I had to get a second pair at eight months!). So after my baby was born I was so excited to get back into experimenting with fashion and back to those shops!!!!

My style has definitely changed, I don’t get dressed up to the max for work anymore but i do look after myself and I make careful choices when spending my money, investing in good boots and a coat that will last and adding a few extras to make the seasons wardrobe fun. But jewellery is something I still love to go wild with, key is not to be a show-off, mix designer with highstreet and handmade friendship bracelets for an eclectic look. I love statement necklaces, big earrings, bangles bangles bangles!!! And now with a total of five ear piercings the world is my oyster!!!!
