The Wardrobe Edit: The Tuxedo

There is one item I am definitely on the hunt for at the moment – the perfect Tuxedo. There’s something so simple but so powerful about a woman in a tux. Chic, stylish, classic and strong. A look that stands the test of time and works from day to night, with trainers or stilettos, a top knot or a blow-dry it can be worked which ever way you want it. It is also such an easy look to pull off, requiring little thought, much like your LBD it’s the perfect go-to piece for when you don’t have time to meticulously plan an on-season masterpiece but want to look cool and stylish. The key to getting it right is all in the cut. Hence the search can take sometime as one size most certainly does not fit all. You have to find the cut that fits your body, that makes the most of your figure and highlights all your best bits. The only way to do this is to get trying them on and experiment. I have rounded up a few of my favourites I have spotted so far, including a few designer pieces on sale, some up to half price at the moment. A tuxedo would be an investment so these aren’t the cheapest options but like a good fitting man’s suit its worth investing in and you will call on it for years to come.
