Happy Friday ladies… what a difference a four day week makes, and what a difference this (intermittent) sunshine makes. So time for my weekly confession and this Friday it includes some new SS16 pieces and some sale buys – so be quick if you want to nab them before they sell out. I have also included an eBay purchase here which took a little bit of time to track down due to some of the crazy prices people sell on highstreet pieces for!
So here goes…
SS16 Buys
Buy here – H&M off the shoulder top
Sale Buys
The first of the sale buys is from &OtherStories – I am afraid it’s not online so you have to get into a store to buy it, if their customer service is as good as H&M’s then you should be able to track it down pretty easily. It was originally £65 and now its £32!
I have been coveting it since I saw the beautiful Fran Bacon who writes The Fashion Lift and if you don’t already follow her on IG you should. She has incredible style and such great ideas for mixing things up. Here is her original shot of the lace blouse… can you tell where I got my inspiration from? Thank you Fran!
The second of my sale buys is this leopard print bag which is not only beautiful buy totally practical! I have to wear cross-body these days as I am always running around the toddler and need both hands free. This bag has a long leather strap ideal for this, and you can alter the length to suit. Then it has several pockets so you can keep your bits all separated, i Like to keep my daughters bits in the separate pocket. So to really get value for money – it also has a gold chain strap that you can swap over so you can make it an evening bag, or remove the straps all together and have an edgy clutch for a wedding… like buying three bags for the price of one! I should mention I have altered it slightly. It did have a large black leather branded strap across the front which I quickly snipped off to reveal all of the lovely leopard. I love adding to or removing bits from highstreet pieces, you can make something more your own often with just a needle and thread or in this case a pair of scissors!
eBay Buy
Ok so this is a new one for my confessional – an eBay purchase. I was so unsure about buying a bomber but the super stylish Michelle from My Fashionable 40’s swayed me with her fab styling of an amazing bomber which sadly I am returning. As much as I tried I couldn’t get it to work on me, I think it was the structured shape on my wide shoulders… but I still had a bomber sized whole in my wardrobe and I have seen one particular Zara bomber on so many super stylish women across IG once again I feel in love and just had to have it…. so I searched eBay and there were quite a few on sale… but at crazy prices! With a bit of patience I managed to find one with a normal price tag and it arrived this week. It is a super soft satin that drapes on my shoulders and seems to suit me better than the more structured versions. Now I just need to work out how to style this one… any tips let me know!
And there you have it. Any questions, suggestions, tips, comments, ideas etc please let me know below….
Thank you so much for reading.
Love,
Vx

I have total bag envy too….I can’t get enough leopard print at the moment! ;0) I can see a purchase being made…..as much as I’d love the lace top I haven’t a chance of getting to & Other Stories any time soon……..but I could be pounding the pavements of Bath today looking for some nude ballet pumps! Brilliant inspo as always! xx
