The Friday Edit: Dressing for the Weather

Another Friday and another fuzzy head… (totally blame my husband for this one, the sambuca shots after our civilised meal were not needed). Luckily my daughter is with her grandparents and I can take it easy… until this evening.

So this week has been all over the place weather wise, and a nightmare to dress for. Sunshine and heat quickly turns into rain and chills… boots vs pumps, coat vs jacket, carry around a brolly or risk a lions mane?! So this week I wanted to add a couple of pieces to make the transition a little easier. A lightweight jacket, a hat and a spring scarf.

The Scarf

For the perfect capsule wardrobe accessories are key. You can invest in the classics and add details each season. A scarf is the perfect seasonal addition and also great for some added warmth or to quickly throw over your head should the heavens open. The Hat

I am not a brolly fan… and when you’re pushing a buggy its just not practical! So enter the brimmed hat. Practical and stylish. I wear my black felt hat every week so it was time to add another to the collection and the soft grey of this Jigsaw design is perfect for Spring. I try and remember to have a mini Batiste in my handbag to pump up the roots when I take it of… my hat hair is not pretty!

The Jacket 

If I could only ever wear one style of jacket it would be a blazer. You can dress it up for work or evenings out, dress it down for play, wear alone when its warm and layer it up for colder days. This week I wore it with just a t-shirt, the sunshine was heaven! But add a hoody, jeans and Stan Smiths and you have an effortless casual look that won’t leave you standing in the cold. This Zara blazer comes in black, white and this green shade. I love the rolled up sleeves as I always push up my blazers arms to give it some attitude and now they’ve done it for me.
