I am sure I have bored everyone enough about my holiday (sorry) but I am seriously excited! Mostly because this year I think it will be the first year Vivienne will really understand what is going on. We went away when she was just three months and just after her first birthday – pretty sure she had no idea what was going on. Now she gets all excited when we talk about going on the plane (I am dreading that bit) and she has her trunki all ready to go. So this weeks buys have all been last minute holiday purchases… sun tan lotions, travel toys, miniature shampoos etc …and… some new denim cut-offs!
Cut-offs for me are a Summer staple. You don’t need to be a stick-thin model to wear them either, short, long, tight, loose, low cut, high waisted there are so many styles to suit every body shape. With this in mind I wanted to share Topshop’s new denim styles for shorts which I think is excellent in helping you to choose the right style for your shape. I have put a round-up below with my own body-shape and style suggestions which I hope will help if you’re in the market for getting those pins out.
They have five designs to choose from – Ashley, Daisy, Mom, Girlfriend and Rosa. Each cut of short is suited to different styles and body shapes…
I actually bought these last year but in a more distressed finish. They’re great if like me you have hips as the legs are a bit longer and less ‘bottom showing’ than some of the others. If you choose a ‘tall’ short they’re even longer but whilst still keeping the style. And if one day you feel like showing it all off you can just turn them up a bit.
As the name suggests think ‘Daisy Duke’ and you have it… these are serious hot-pants and you need confidence to wear them. Wear them with a loose top to balance out the hot-ness and give them a more casual look.
Love these – they have a cute little split hem on each side which is a nice detail. Very highwasited so perfect if you want to ensure the mum-tum is covered up. Size up a size so you have a gap at the small of your back. Unfortunately didn’t have my size in stock but might have to buy post-holiday hoping they’ll be some sunshine still to come.
This is the style I have bought for holiday – a much thicker Levi’s style short with a flattering high waist. I sized up to give a looser look as i wanted to wear with my bikinis and not worry about any rolls over the top!
I absolutely love the visible pockets of this style! So authentic and vintage looking. Very short-shorts so you need confidence in abundance but well worth a purchase! Gorgeous!!

Thank you so much for reading… My next post will be from a lounger… if I make it through the flight I am so dreading…
