In the first of a little mini-series on beauty I wanted to answer a few questions people have asked on Snapchat and Instagram and show you what my beauty essentials are. I am starting with my skin and my every-day beauty routine.
Fragrance has the power to lift any mood and my all-time favourite perfume is Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche. It’s light, fruity and lasts. I love it so much I wear it year-round rarely swapping for anything else.
I am trying to be better at moisturising as I have been a bit slack and it shows. I bought the Charlotte Tilbury face cream a while back (here) but I wasn’t a fan as I found it too thick. Since then I have been using it once a week more as a mask than a moisturiser and its back in favour.
The Nuxe dry oil is an absolute favourite of mine and since returning from holiday I have been smothering it on everyday. A warning though – I used it when I had my favourite tan on (posts here and here) and it wreaked havoc with the colour. The oil must penetrate the colour and it made it instantly patchy!
And lastly – the Lancome eye cream is a new addition, I have been using it for about two months and really love it. Its very light and soaks in instantly. It’s not a miracle cream, not sure I have seen any difference in my fine lines, but it leaves me feeling soft and smooth, and most importantly my skin feels hydrated.
Makeup wise I keep my routine pretty minimalist and quick. Foundations are always by Chanel and Vitalumiere is my go-to everyday foundation. It’s incredibly light and lets your skin breathe and if you have a tan it glows through. I tend to use a more matt version for evenings.
When you’ve had very little sleep and are looking pale and drained (which is me most days) a lipstick is the ultimate transformer. I can step out without anything on face but a pink lipstick and I’ll look instantly more alive.
My absolute favourites are the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine. They’re so light and hydrating and look incredibly natural. You can build up the colour or leave it as a soft sheen. I flit between Romance and Boheme for subtle looks and Rebelle when I am feeling more brave.
And my absolute favourite lipstick of all time, day and night… is by Avon. I use shade 2000 which is simply called Red. It’s quite Matt but lasts well and one of those shades that has people stopping you to ask where its from.
If you have any questions please do ask and I will try and reply as quickly as possible.
