This evenings Sunday edit comes to you from a long dining table in a beautiful house in Deauville, France. I have spent the most divine week here, eating, drinking and relaxing with my family. We leave tomorrow afternoon and I am taking the most special memories with me.
France has always been a country I have loved although I’ve only ever visited Paris for pleasure, and been to the alps to ski. I have never really had an urge to explore the rest of the country. But this beautiful town has childhood memories for my husband and having visited I can see why he loved it so much.
With a stunning beach, glamorous casino and a marina perfect for people watching the rich and famous, it is the closest seaside resort to Paris, and referred to as the Parisian riviera. I mentioned on Instagram about Gabrielle (Coco) Chanel opening her first ever fashion boutique here in 1913 and how she would stroll down the famous boardwalk showing off her designs of wide brimmed hats, beach pyjamas and beautiful striped shirts. So as well as marvelling at all the beauty I have been desperately inhaling every last drop of French-chic glamour I possibly can.
