For my second instalment of the Summer edit I wanted to let you in on my absolute must-haves for my hair, body and beach bag…
The Summer Edit: Skin care
Whether you’re stay-cationing or vacationing Summer brings with it a need for certain essentials and having just returned from the beautiful Deauville in Northern-France I thought now would be perfect time to share my absolute holiday favourites with you. Hopefully just in time for anyone about to make the most of the last few weeks in August.
Having enjoyed a sunshine break back in May, our August French break was more shopping and eating than sunbathing but I did get to have a few hours relaxing on the incredible beach there, honestly never seen such a long and wide stretch of sand before. It took ten minutes to walk the width of the beach in order to dip your toes in the sea! And with sunshine comes dried locks and sun kissed (red) skin… so in my first Summer essentials edit I wanted to share my absolute skin saviours, the makeup, the prep, the tan and all the gloss…
The Sunday Edit: FOMO
The past week I have really noticed my FOMO (fear of missing out for anyone as clueless as I usually am) has peaked. My friends, some with children, most without, out and about in town, in Ibiza, dancing on tables or prancing around at festivals without a care in the world. When you’re at home on Saturday night yet again its so easy to feel you’re missing out. Don’t get me wrong I am happy with my choices, knowing my baby is tucked up sleeping soundly as I tuck into another boxset with my Netflix husband is one of the best feelings in the world. Especially when accompanied with a giant pizza and a plenty of good wine. Sometimes I just need to remind myself of just how lucky I am, and that I chose to be right here right now. And when I choose not to be those tables are just a babysitters call away from being danced on. But it’s not always simple, being able to enjoy the moment. Whether that moment is prancing around at a festival, skinny dipping in Ibiza, or in my pjs sat on the sofa finishing off the last of the Malteasers treat size bag (whoops). So this weeks Sunday inspo post is about the here and now. Living for the moment, whatever that moment is. And making the most of it. You don’t get it back. You can’t relive it. So make it worth living.
The Sunday Edit: Holiday Style
As we plough through July, August just a few weeks away we are well and truly into Summer holiday territory so I wanted to focus today’s Sunday Edit on some much needed sunshine inspo to get your style juices flowing ready for your own holiday. Whether you’re staycationing or heading to the tropics its the perfect excuse to have fun with your clothes and flash some skin whilst you’re at it… just remember to stay true to your personal style, be you… with a glimmer of sunlight…
The Sunday Edit: Here and Now
Writing this from sunnier climates I don’t have my usual Sunday evening dreads and it makes me ponder why I have them in the first place. It used to be work, going back to a deadline or a particularly mean client, or even the hangover induced dreads, then the ‘I am about to be left alone with the baby for a full week’ dreads… and recently a sort of sadness that another weekend is over, time is going too fast… and having children only makes you realise that more. How do they grow so fast?!
The Sunday Edit: That Holiday Feeling
As dreamily predicted last week I am indeed writing this from a sun lounger. Hoorah! We made it in one piece and the flight was actually pretty carefree. There was no screaming toddler running riot up and down the aisle, or crazy tantrums, it was (relatively) plain sailing and Vivienne actually found it to be exactly what it is…. a little adventure.
The Sunday Edit: Here Comes Sunshine
Can you feel how close we are to Summer… waking up to sunshine instantly puts me in a great mood. Nothing beats that warm feeling of the first rays of the day beating down on your face and making you feel, if only for a second, that you could just maybe be on a caribbean island. Then you pull the zipper up on your parka and shudder as you walk into a shady spot and the illusion is shattered… but we are on our way that’s for sure.
The Sunday Edit: Easter Monday
I hope everyone has had a fantastic Easter weekend, I’d love to tell you mine was all happy families and indulgence and whilst I confirm there was most certainly ‘indulgence’ unfortunately there was far less of the ‘happy families’ as we are most definitely in tantrum stage. And I think after the amazing few days with my husband relaxing and having a few date nights my daughter was suffering with some form of separation anxiety. I am now more exhausted than before the break… so this is my attempt to rev myself up again ready for the week ahead. Give me some outfit ideas to inspire me in the morning, inspiration to exercise, look after myself and my family, eat healthily, call the people who make me happy, work hard and most importantly for me after these past ‘tantrum-hell’ days… laugh heavily.
The Sunday Edit: Weekly Inspo
Another weekend gone in a flash, it seems like the older I get the quicker life seems to go by… doesn’t stop the Sunday dreads though so here’s my weekly inspiration post to help me and hopefully you feel revved up to make this week a good one. Whether you’re a stay at home mum, mum to small babies, working mum, mum to teens, mum to a mum or mum to be, we are all a boss of something… we are all doing a great job… we just sometimes need to be reminded of that. And reminded to look after ourselves as well as our families.
This week I am setting myself three simple goals:
The Lifestyle Edit: Monday Blues
I hope everyone had a really lovely Mothers Day yesterday. I decided to skip my usual Sunday evening post and enjoy some more mummy-time so I thought I would bring my Sunday inspo to a Monday morning in the hope it’ll perk you up as you start the week. Monday mornings are never much fun after all….
