The Style Edit: Back to Basic

‘With good basics you’ll have endless options…’

Like anything in life if you have solid foundations you’re set for success. From season to season, whether you have £20, £200 or £2000 to splurge, by already having your basics nailed you can just layer on the trend pieces or simply the pieces that you fall in love with that season, and you’re good to go. The Wardrobe Edit: Breton Stripes

Who doesn’t love a breton stripe? Blue, black, red… a breton stripe top is an essential wardrobe staple, it is so easy to wear dressed down or styled up. It is also a piece that’s definitely worth investing in as a good cut and a heavy fabric make all the difference. Saying that my wardrobe consists of high-end and budget, including a new Zara t-shirt material version you can get here. But my absolute favourite is an old Gant heavy cotton version that rolls at the sleeves ‘just-so’. This is their current version here and the Jcrew versions were amazing but sold out here maybe you can find one on eBay – but this version here is gorgeous too. Boden also does a great version here but I would definitely by a size or two up to get the oversized look and roll up those sleeves.

I love to wear mine with leopard print, there’s something about the two prints clashing that gives the stripes more of an edge. Mix with leather, khaki or a bright blue denim to really rock the look! Hope the inspo images below will help with the styling…
