It’s not often I have the patience to browse an online store. I love internet shopping for what it is – quick, easy, hassle free. So when I find myself on the huge department store type websites with hundreds of products to trawl through you can be sure after page three I have given up and closed the window. This is why the Zara ‘new in’ tab is so my best friend. Having said that – I am learning a new online shopping skill. Key words! So with my new weapon at the ready I have been taking on sites I would never normally try, and most recently its been Boohoo.com the fast-fashion, trend driven, global site that I always thought was for teens, or at least carefree twenty somethings who went out every night of the week and never wore the same £12 dress twice.
Sunrise to Sunset… in a little black dress
If you only buy one thing this season then you will need it to work hard for you and I am championing the little black dress. Choose it boxy, easy to wear and with delicate thin straps. This little number will take you from sunrise to sunset without a moments hesitation. Pair with loafers, biker boots or trainers for day, and slip a breton or little t-shirt underneath for true nineties nostalgia. For sunset go without anything underneath… fancy adding some glamour – throw on a pair of heels and you have a simple chic cocktail dress.

The Shopping Edit: Summer Days
Here in London we have finally seen Summer arrive and what a relief. I can wear my favourite cut-offs without feeling like a loon. And this week I received a very exciting package from Dune London with these beautiful tan suede loafers inside. Totally in love with them, soft, classic, and leg-extending. They’re from the new AW16 collection which is trickling into stores and online at the moment. These are the perfect Summer purchase, they’ll see you through the last of the Summer weather and will look great with jeans for Autumn and Winter.
The Shopping Edit: SALE SALE SALE
It does seem rather trivial writing a shopping post on such a historical day – but my little website has always been my outlet, my place to come and write about things that make me happy… fun lighthearted topics, my life edited for you to see.
So… back to serious things… what I bought this week. Surely shopping is helping the economy anyway right?!
The Trend Edit: Tie Me Up
I am totally and utterly in love with those little tie-up straps on jumpsuits, vests and dresses that anytime I see those little bows I just want to buy whatever it is. Something about the ultra feminine girly look brought up to date with modern silhouettes or simple monochrome prints.
The Friday Edit: Detoxing
Happy Friday!
So one week after my ‘detox post’ and I am pleased to say I am doing pretty well. I have had a major clear-out and sent bags and bags off to the charity shops. Hoping that ticks my ‘doing good’ box for the week. As for shopping… I haven’t bought a thing! Atleast not for myself. I have bought a tonne for the garden getting it Summer ready and then lots of little odds and ends for Mini V’s busy bag on the flight next weekend.
Not much fun for a Friday shopping post!
So… if I wasn’t detoxing… here is what I would have bought, hopefully I can live vicariously through you (torture)
The Friday Edit: Online Shopping
I have been spending far too much time online browsing the SS16 collections recently. Those ‘new in’ tabs have seen a lot of action! DHL, Hermes and DPD are certainly keeping me company at home. So here goes…. confession time….
The Shopping Edit: Dreaming of Summer
Friday confession time… and looking at the weeks purchases it’s pretty obvious I am desperate for the Summer to arrive! Dresses, a mini skirt (eek I haven’t worn a mini in years!) vest tops… the shops are just full of exciting Summer ideas right now. So here goes… Continue reading “The Shopping Edit: Dreaming of Summer”
The Wardrobe Edit: Winter Coats
Although I still think I am a Summer girl through and through when it comes to fashion this time of year is great. It’s the perfect time for experimenting with the new season trends and its not too cold that you have to cover up with a giant coat and a two tonne scarf. Autumn lends itself perfectly to a woman’s wardrobe.
But don’t be lulled into a false sense of security… Winter is close and if you don’t plan ahead you may be left short. Now is the time to buy that Winter coat.
This month’s tepid temperature is the perfect opportunity to browse the shops and online for your perfect winter coat, but if you don’t want it to be sold out – purchase before the month is out!
In the meantime here are my favourites on the highstreet (which might seem a little biased towards Zara and Mango but these are my favourites after searching countless shops) followed by a big dollop of gorgeous coat inspo….
Mango double breasted short coat £119.99
H&M jacquard weave coat £99.99
Thank you for reading and please let me know if you have seen an amazing coat on the highstreet this season!
Love,
