Since having my daughter almost two years ago now, being a mum is something that’s often discussed with my other mum friends. Whether being a ‘just a mum’ is enough… and when actually it’s just not enough and you need more. Then there is why so many of us don’t want to admit to it.
There should be no guilt in wanting more yet we all feel it. We all beat ourselves up for it. The endless cycle of guilt that starts from the moment your first is born and lasts a lifetime. Just because you are a mum it doesn’t mean you can’t still be glamorous and do the things you used to enjoy so much. Why shouldn’t you enjoy some me-time locked away in the bathroom with the latest glossy mag and a bath full of salts that were far too expensive than you like to admit….
Becoming a mum doesn’t mean you have to hide, lose or change any part of who you are. You are just adding another string to your ever stronger bow. Life is for enjoying, and if style brings you joy then sprinkle that style every where you go… play groups, the office, at home, at the supermarket! Dress up, dress down, wear lippy, go bare-faced, smell sweet, smell sour… be your stylish self and just enjoy it.
So take some time this Sunday evening, before the week snowballs again, to do something just for you. Whether its reading my ramblings and indulging in some online shopping, or painting your nails sipping a glass of wine, it’ll do you the world of good. For everything that will drive you up the wall next week will soon fade into memories that you’ll yearn for in years to come…. or so I have been told…
Thank you so much for reading.
I love to hear from you…

Truth! I believe that actually becoming a mother means that you want to be that and more…it’s not just good enough doing what you did as your single self you want to somehow inspire your child! I think I have to say that as I was crazy enough to start my blog (www.similindgren.blogspot.co.uk) whilst on maternity leave, and work and do home stuff and take care of a now 14 week old! Lovely read Simi X

Both my teens had boys they wanted to see and all my husband was interested in this afternoon was the football so I hopped in my car and spent a lovely couple of hours in Leeds shopping ON MY OWN! 😋
